After building one skincare multi-million skincare business and having sold it, Dr Katie Rodan + Dr Kathy Fields knew they had more people to help with many of the common skincare concerns they were seeing in their dermatology offices.
Rodan + Fields philosophy is based on the right ingredients, in the right formulations and in the right order. They are committed to industry-leading innovation and transformative results in the safest and most efficient way while empowering a community of entreprenuers.
Rodan + Fields was founded by Stanford trained and well renowned dermatologists Dr Katie Rodan + Dr Kathy Fields in 2000.
By 2006, Rodan + Fields was a top-selling brand in high-end department stores in the US and now owned by Estee Lauder.
In August 2007, it was announced that Dr Rodan + Dr Fields would buy-back their brand from Estee Lauder and launch into the direct selling channel.
They knew that a lot of those department store sales had come from word of mouth.
In January 2008, Rodan + Fields Prescription for Change Foundation (PFC) was launched, and in March 2008 Rodan + Fields officially launched in the US into the direct selling channel.
In February 2015, Rodan + Fields launched in Canada, and then Australia in September 2017
July 2024, a Rodan + Fields announced a significant change to their current business model, a move away from being an MLM (multi-level marketing) company to an affiliate model, taking effect from 1 September 2024. What exactly does this mean? Instead of consultants, they will have affiliates. Affiliates will no longer have, or build, a team of consultants, and will be paid a commission purely on customer sales.
Through the Prescription for Change Foundation, Rodan + Fields funds non-profit organisations in the market they operate to invest in the communities where we live and work.
Some of the organisations supported by the PFC are: buildOn, International Youth Foundation, The Smith Family and Kids Door.
